Hands-free Car Kit
Legislature around the world today, including several states in the US, requires the use of a hands-free car kit while driving a vehicle. Other states and countries will follow with similar requirements in the near future. In response to these demands, many cellular phones have been shipping with an earpiece as part of the package. However, the user is still wired to the phone, and usage is ultimately restricted to the placement of the phone. At the same time, having long conversations with an earpiece can become uncomfortable.

Fortemedia’s echo cancellation products provide a true hands-free solution to the hands-free car kit application. Fortemedia SAM products enable a one-piece solution that integrates the microphone and speakerphone into a small-form factor chassis and connects to a cellular phone wirelessly through Bluetooth. This means a user can have their cellular phone in a purse or briefcase in the backseat, and still be able to have clear full-duplex conversations on the phone while driving.
